- ABV calculator, on the worked example
- 4.8
Three calculators, and nothing you have to sign up for. The ABV calculator turns two hydrometer readings into a strength by HMRC's factor method. The priming sugar calculator starts from the carbon dioxide the beer is already carrying at the temperature it finished at (from the Henry's law constants NIST publishes, not from a polynomial nobody can trace) and tells you what to add for the fizz you want. The mash water calculator gives the strike temperature, the sparge volume and the efficiency the brew day actually achieved.
The factor table and the 20°C measuring temperature come from HMRC's alcoholic products technical guide; the molecular weights, the molar volume and the Henry's law constants behind the priming figures come from the NIST Chemistry WebBook and CODATA.
